Or should we just accept the fact that our house is going to look like the inside of a Toys ‘R’ Us for the rest of the year? We grew up getting tons of gifts from my parents for everything, much to my grandparents’ dismay - and to ours, since we knew we weren’t as thankful or gracious as we should have been since it’s not special and it’s exhausting and overwhelming- there were only a few toys/gifts that we were truly excited to receive (Barbie townhouse and Barbie Dreamhouse -different years - were definitely AWESOME). As grandparents, my parents have realized that too much is too much and are respectful of our request not to bring a gift every time they visit, and this Christmas was good since they bought only one gift - one we especially requested too - and it was a huge hit. In order to keep the toy quantity in check, I have culled the toys over the past year, but just flat ran out of time to follow CarenRoma’s excellent suggestion during the lead in to Christmas.
