A Bay Area woman has been sentenced in the abduction of her biological son in 2006 from a Halloween parade outside Roosevelt School in Salinas, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office announced today. The Office said Leticia Ortiz Solano, 29, was sentenced to three years in prison. The boy, then 4, lived in adoptive care with his grandmother in Salinas, police said. Witnesses, tips and investigative work led the agencies, along with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and the Sunnyvale Police Department, to find the boy in a Sunnyvale motel room with Solano’s husband, Jesus Solano, then 30. The boy’s parents lost custody of him in 2003, police said, following allegations of sexual abuse by Jesús Solano against one of his two children. More Halloween News
