Every bride-to-be wants to have a great hen night and dressing up is a fantastic way of making sure you have a night to remember. If your party is taking place during one of the colder months of the year, you could choose a long-sleeved velvet or velour dress trimmed with fake fur, which will keep you feeling divinely snug. Feather boas look fantastic and will also keep you warm. If yours is a spring or summer wedding, then you could opt for cute mini dresses in a lighter fabric such as silk or satin, teamed with sheer stockings.
The next essential item for your angel fancy dress costume is a pair of wings. White lace trim wings would look very pretty or you may prefer feathered wings for a dramatic effect. Fallen angels could wear a pair of sheer black wings, which would look very effective when teamed with a black wig and ripped black stockings or fishnet tights.
Don’t forget to supply your little angels with suitably heavenly party food. Cupcakes or fairy cakes can be adapted into angel cakes. Cut a slice off the top of each cake, divide into two, place a teaspoon of butter cream into the void, and arrange a pair of “wings” on each cake. Sprinkle with edible angel dust and silver and gold dragees.
Angel “dolls” can be made from fondant icing, marzipan or gingerbread. Finally, for drinks, strawberry or vanilla milkshakes sprinkled with edible angel dust and topped with a strawberry halved into “wings” are sure to impress at your angel fancy dress costume party.
