Face painters often amaze those who watch them when they are hard at work at a local fundraiser. It is common to be thrilled and amazed at how quickly and easily the blank faces turn into master pieces. It is so easy that it is common for you to try your hand at the art yourself. First thing to look for is a simple face painting design in a toddler’s painting book. The elementary coloring book will have very simple designs. You may have to use your imagination a little as the book will give little help in transforming it into a design for the face.
You can start practicing the simple designs on paper or on your hand but once you are sure that you can pull it off then try the same design on the face of the child. Don’t worry if it does not look like a professionals work, the child whose face has been painted would just be happy for the effort you are taking.

If you open your eyes you will find that there are ideas for face painting everywhere you look. When you go online you will see ideas for designs everywhere as there are many face painting sites. Common designs are skull, pirate, monster, Spiderman, dog, bunny, butterfly and princess.
As a beginner you can practice about 10 to 15 designs and aim to perfect them over time. Feel comfortable about painting those first and then look for more intricate designs. Always remember practice makes perfect but above all have fun when face painting!
